19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his first championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.
The Russian, a ex- number one, has endured a challenging year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serve in specific - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time trainer Cervara.
Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the past month - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over Frenchman Moutet.
This marks his maiden title following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Success also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 championships at 21 different events.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a championship is particularly special," said tennis professional the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.
His counter-punching strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted commentators to question if his capacity to play at the elite level was finished.
But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
The pair swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour victory, took control to create a third set.
The opponent saved 4 early-game chances in a tight deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net area, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
